The Lean Project Management Credential:
Projects are successful even when they are not run well. The Lean project management credential incorporates the principles of lean to project management. Lean is an overused word these days, but in its purest form, lean simply relates to reducing the waste around activities, enhancing the competitive advantage by simplifying complex problems, and applying a systems approach to solving problems.
The Lean project management certification combines the Six Sigma Lean principles with the PMBOK methodology and comes with effective ways to monitor the success of projects from constraints other than cost, quality, and scope. Several of the lean concepts in this course will be practical examples of the Japanese philosophy of Poka-Yoke.
The Advantages of a Lean Project Management Credential:
Going beyond the PMP certification, the project manager needs to excel in the field of optimizing project resources, time, cost, and other parameters across multiple projects. The effective project manager is well versed in lean principles, understands the 5 types of “Muda” or waste, and applies value engineering to all processes.
In addition, the Lean project manager is focused on value to the customer rather than simply meeting the triple constraints. A lean certification and the PMP certification will establish the project manager as extremely skilled and proficient in handling even the most complex projects.
