Course Description
The objective of the Principles of Lean Six Sigma course is to get the project management professional interested in the “lean” perspective of doing things. Much thought has been given to the development of this course from an understanding of lean and Six Sigma principles from a project manager’s perspective. The advantages of both Lean principles and Six Sigma are evident with respect to basic quality functions, but the extension of Six Sigma and Lean principles to a host of project activities is where the focus of this course is.
The course looks at various ways to reduce waste in projects, defines the DMAIC cycle and its interaction with the PMBOK methodology, and looks at process improvement plans and value engineering analysis. A must course for project managers recently exposed to “LEAN” principles.
